Award-winning photographer based in Los Angeles, CA.
Photography first found me in college—no formal training, just a borrowed camera, a few rolls of film, and a mentorship with a close friend who showed me how to see life through the lens. That’s when I fell in love with photography, seeing moments come to life in Black and White images
In the late ’70s, I hung out at the Whiskey in Los Angeles, photographing the bands that came through the club. My first photo sale went to Kool & the Gang, and from that moment, I knew this was more than a hobby.
While serving in the Navy, I took my camera across the South Pacific, Japan, and the Philippines, documenting life, people, and moments that might have otherwise been forgotten. Later, I studied photography at the Art Institute of Atlanta, inspired by the work of masters like Avedon, Ritts, Ansel Adams and Annie Lebowitz.
Over the years, I’ve photographed the everyday and the extraordinary, from soulful portraits across the South, Cityscapes, Fashion Models, to vibrant street events back in California. Each frame is about connection, truth, and timeless storytelling.
Today, there is a whole new world of possibilities for creating images . Using both analog and digital cameras to capture images, I’m able to marry the old and new through darkroom developing and digital means with Lightroom and Photoshop.
It is a life’s journey, and I am glad to be on it.
Thanks for being here. Let’s tell some stories.
